I wondered if anyone has needed a security check to work in certain environments? There is some work at a community centre, but they want paperwork, don't see the point if all someone is doing few days work

You can do the basic one online and pay for it yourself, otherwise the employer will have to do it for you.

Had em done once when doing a job on a school and yes I passed fine but they did not care much that I was a waster, druggie, kleptomaniac, schitzo nut case at all

At odd times I have had to get a security pass always on government contracts.
needed one for Scardie , the army secrets dept.
another for a 2m refit at New Scotland Yard that had to be completed from start to finish in 2 weeks.

You need to find out if they have to do it (the check) and charge you, or if you do it and add it to the bill.
