ive got a house to re-dash top half/mono bottom half its already been dashed twice will it be safe to go over it again or is it best th old stuff comes off?

what im tring to say grand is the house were doing is now knocked off back to the original scratch coat which is a c**t to get off can or should i just rendaid and scratch then top, with the substraight already being solid

When over rendering it's not just a case of will one coat adhere to the previous, you also have to think about the total weight of render that is being supported by the key between the substrate and the original first coat. One way to get over this problem is to cover the old render with a product called Rendalath, which is mechanically fixed right through to the substrate so no extra shear force is put on the old render.

rendaid only goes on 3mm thick and it sticks like s**t to a blanket just scratch with the rendaid and top

Never used rend aid is it expensive? We have always used sbr slurry, sbr cement and a dash of sand and while its tacky lay your scratch on with sbr in the mix and fibers done one last year just before christmas and had to do some work there this week and it was spot on, no cracks or hollows
