dampness

evening lads, so i've started chopping the blown render off the garden wall and i've noticed that there is severe dampness that bad that the morter joints have got i think sandy salt sitting on the surface and the face of the bricks are coming off with the render, some of the bricks are loose now. i'm thinking that the damp is coming through from the opposite side where their is additional brick work that supports the post box which is on the front of the wall and all these bricks are as loose as they come, anyones thoughts on this ???
