just started knocking the old plaster off inside walls of an old terraced house the bricks underneath are soft and crumbling just wondered should i put a coat of render on was just going to dot n dab but the walls are just single skin into next door id appreciate your comments guys
 
I would clean it off as best you could, loose bits and dust, scud coat it and then a flat scratch..

Old terraced house ,as you say ,be careful with dot /dab .on a single skin wall mate ,might be better to insure late and stud out ,if you know what i mean :RpS_unsure:
 
Why are you knocking the old plaster off, is it real loose?

Seems like the more material between the two houses the better, if it's single skin.

Nowt worse than hearing the 20 stone lady next door farting!
