Cracking monocouche

Hi there,

I had an extension built about 5 years ago and after a couple of years this crack appeared in the render. It's at the point where the new extension meets the old property. I'm not sure if there was an expansion joint & I'm not sure if mesh/an expansion bead was put into the render.

I filled it and the repair lasted about six months before the cracking came back. What would be the best course of action in order to remediate the issue to stop it cracking again?

Also as it's monocouche, would cutting out the crack and re-rending work? Or would the whole wall(s) need to be done again? Any advice would be great.

Thanks in advance

Sam

If it’s a straight crack I’d take the Downpipe off cut the joint again put an expansion over the joint and have a long raised band
Cracks happen an there impossible to patch
You can get crack repair kits from parex don’t know how good they are
