Crack in Old Wall not taped over or treated, will cause issues?

Hi,
Unfortunately my workmen have not taped
over or treated a large crack running from
top to bottom in the wall of the bathroom and
have put bonding straight over it.
They have then put pva and tiled on top.

Will this present issues later on ?
I am concerned about the porcelain tiles coming
off the bathroom wall.
 
should of investigated the crack before throwing bonding straight over it should have removed plaster from around it to see if it was structural or may of been just a hareline crack on suface of finish in witch case dont worry.
 
Scrin tape wont stop any movement so if the tiles were going to come off itd happen regardless. Scrim tape is just to TRY and prevent shrinkage cracks
 
Have to agree

bonding is not a suitable substrate for tiling (esp heavy porcelain)
pva is not suitable for tiling should be sbr

recepie for disaster

go to the tilers forum and ask them and they will agree
 
You should not use use bonding or pva.its not a suitable substrate for tiling and you should really use a cement based adhesive for porcelain, and that could react with the bonding you should really get get your crack looked at because Iit really does need to be sorted
