How do fella's
The job I'm on at the minute has got a very light coloured stone fireplace which cost an arm and a leg, it needs skimming round on one of the walls I'm doing, the chap who owns the house put some masking tape on it while stripping the wall paper off the wall and its peeled the finish off the stone and marked it....... so it can't be masked up, have you any ideas what to cover it with whilst skimming, the only thing i could think of is some thin hardboard with the edge planed to a knife edge slid up to the wall on top of it and just weight it down with a couple of bricks etc...... but would welcome any other ideas any of you have, cheers in advance, neil.

I done as fireplasce recently which cost a fortune at a manor house.
It was a limestone firplace.Best thing to do is use an impregnator or selaer to seal surface before commencing.i personally just masked up with low tack tape sheeted and got to work.
goto www.jbpropertycare.co.uk and look at recent work to see photos.
