Hello.
Could someone tell me, is it OK to base coat strait onto an old brickwork and new concrete block substrate with Parex Monogris E base coat, or should you really prime the masonry with a suitable primmer first?
The renderers doing this work for me have skipped the priming stage, does this matter and is likely to effect any guarantees etc?
Thank you.

@Casper

Depends on the condition of your bricks but yes it will probably be ok if the base coat is allowed to fully set and cure.

Who told you it need priming ? Do you have a spec ?
Why don't you speak to the renderers then if your concerned.
To be fair unless its glazed brickwork the micro will do nothing.

The renderers quoted for micro but admitted they didn't use it. Now apparently this may affect the Parex guarantee, thanks for your advice.
