hi im after some advice on sand for internal rendering after a dpc, when i did a local dpc course we were told to use a clean washed sand so not to have salts and contaminates in, so ive been using washed river sand from a local merch but they only sell it in 40kg bags and they are doing my head in aswell as my back!!!! is it ok to use plastering sand from tp or b&q ??? thanks si

yes mate t n p would be fine, personally i use gibbs and dandy plastering sand.its bloody brilliant for plastering sand, sticks like s***.dont forget too add waterproofer mate.

Any washed is ok Jewson ,Tp ,building centre ,we use them all ,and the damp company i do a bit of subbing for have been going for over 30 years

yeh its a small one man band merch, they get it by the truck load and bag it there selfs, i feel f*cked unloading the van never mind spreading abit!!! the river sand is very fine and rubs up a treat its just the weight issue !!

Split the bags in half or chuck some in to buckets :RpS_wink:
Some of the bagged sand I've used in france is 40kg :-0
But if you don't wanna build your muscles up use a wheelbarrow :RpS_biggrin:
