hi everyone. Just after a bit of advice on my trussed ceiling.

My roof trusses are at 600mm centres and it been boarded with 12.5mm with all edges and perimeters noggin'ed out (yellow in image).

I am now aware that it should have been 15mm or battened out to 400mm centres, but that ship has sailed and here we are.
I cant seem to find any images of this online so i hope this question is ok with you guys, should i add additional noggins down the centre line (blue in image)?
I have access to above the boards and it would be fairly easy to add in these additional noggins if need to. I guess that would make like a 600x600 grid.

Cheers guys, i know this will have been asked 1000 times before but unless i see an image of it in front of me i struggle and i couldnt find much at all.

sorry Bobski, should have said.
Other than being a 12.5mm Gyprock wallboard, all that is happening to it after that is to be skimmed. There will be nothing above it other than loft insulation, it is not going to have flooring or storage or anything above it.

Personally I wouldn't bother with those extra noggins now, at least the perimeter is fully supported.

With standard board, at 600s, it could potentially sag - especially if moisture is not controlled.

Decent board is better (denser core often with fibres in), like sound, moisture, or fire.(Green, blue/grey and pink boards).

As you are, I'd just put more screws in.

thanks a lot guys, appreciate the response, hopefully the image i posted appears in Google search to help others looking. I bit the bullet and added in the additional noggins, only took a few hours so may as well. You live and learn, next time i'll just bring a ceiling down on cross timber at 400mm centres.
