it will be much easier to use screeds mate when it comes to floating and i would also recommend you pva the wall first then use bonding

Kirk, put a coat up each angle & top and bottom & up the centre of the wall & rule off when it begins to take up a bit. Then fill in using these screeds as a guide .
Practice makes perfect mate.

why are you telling me mate?

i know how to do it, it was daz that wanted to know ::)

Sorry kirk, I was looking at your picture and was thinking of daz white just like your tee shirt and got a bit mixed up with who posted what! ;D

I think, hes talking about filling in some hollows rather than floating the whole wall anyway.

As has been said pva the lot first, and yeah just straight edge it as soon as you want, double check it after a while though as deep bits can slump and bulge out.

On the bonding subject after bonding all the hollows and bad areas in the room do you pva everything including the bonded areas so the skim goes of all at the same time ? if ya follow my drift.....

Iwould only pva the bonding if it is on for 24 hours or more.

to be honest mate bonding is not designed to be pva'd although i have done this.
but the correct way to do it is to skim over it once it has set but not dried out, and if it dose dry out then you are supposed to wet it down, but like i said i have pva'd and had no problems, so i suppose its up to you :)
