can you use dab for coving

It will work but not as well as cove adhesive as it is designed especially for that purpose,smaller bags and a little more money but price it into the job and then it matters not:)

I've used only ever used dab? I always assumed it was the best thing for the job as coving is just like plasterboard pretty much anyway? Unless using real stuff obv.

Do use easi fill or a filler for joints though. Is there a real difference in cove adhesive? Never really bothered to look if im honest [emoji16]
 
I use whatever is in the van at the time, at the end of the day it's an adhesive if you are using gyproc coving then it's virtually the same as boards anyway so crack right on.

Btw wickes adhesive is white so I like to use that

Yea it's double the price for half the size :bailando:
 
Didn't know theres is white. Bet that looks a bit nicer. Nit that it matters but someones gotta look at it til its painted

No doubt it will work but not all cove is like plasterboard some is polystyrene and some is like fibre glass so not sure that dab would be the best in these situations,ps I have used dab to fit plaster board type cove but usually price in cove addy:)
 
I only use Easifill now for coving. Had Gyproc cove adhesive fail on skim in the past. Lafarge and Knauf cove adhesive is too coarse.
 
seen a lot of guys use artex to fit coving, never tried it myself. I usually price in cove adhesive but I have used bonding compound :sick::whistle:
 
Dunno if it has changed but Knauf sticky used to work great, we done hundreds of persimmon houses with the stuff.
