i've had a quick look through and notice this course mentioned. what i really want to ask is of those with experience on here, would any of you recommend someone spending £2000 getting the qualification, or is it a waste of money and time (have neither in abundance) if the aim is getting paid work as a plasterer.

experience is of course key, but it's a catch 22 of course.

Welcome ;) Start with an easy question why don't ya ;D , personally i wouldn't reconmend getting into plastering in the first place its a sh*t trade .

theres no quick routes im afraid mate or every tom dick and harry would be doing it.............theres loads out there trying to do it

so it's a waste of time getting qualified? the market is saturated with qualified but under-experienced people, is that what you're saying mate?

Done my c and g over 2 years, 1 day a week. The idea is that the bits you learn you can practice as you go. Ideally you need to either be working for a plasterer. I worked with a couple of builders who had basic knowledge, so got some experiance. I have at some stage or another used most things I learn't, however in level 2 I spent 6 months doing fiborous. Unless you're gonna go into this it's a waste of time.
Depending on wether you have any quals, you can get both years for next to nothing.
By doing it part time you'll have some experiance when you qualify, rather then none. Also £2000 is a lot to spend on something you may not even enjoy. I've also never been asked about my qualifications
