ended up using a scratch pad.
place ovee the area and tapp with hammer. change the direction of the pad and use a small flat head driver for detail area

Depends how far you went with scratching once it appeared. I just picked the bald area to put a texture in and got away with it.How can you sort with drywall screw mate ?
