Ive got a gym to skim next week, its been boarded with brown plasterboards, almost looks like mdf, the tapered edges are squared off if that makes sense, has anyone ever skimmed to these boards and what are they like for suction etc, im using mp finish

According to Tommy Walsh, the grey paper side is for tape and joint, and the brown paper side is for skimming onto.

Just sayin' .... :RpS_unsure:

I did skimmed out a loft a few months back. It's was boarded out with these brown boards they are like handy boards. I asked the same question before I skimmed it. Had no problem and suction was normal.

Weird froggies :RpS_biggrin:
@Mc145
Do a small area first see how it reacts, but like said IF they are old, then best to use a bonding agent first(instead of pva) if using mp finish :RpS_thumbup:

Rigidur boards they're called, started on them today, not too bad but it seems to dry out quicker on the joints
