Doing a rough "old English " finish is harder then you think , one customer old look ,is an others rough look , if you know what i mean :RpS_unsure:

Done it many times, the distressed look, piece of piss to do but always tell the client it will cost more to get it looking rough.:RpS_blushing:

Sounds like a job for hillside or nomido ??? Low. spec finish specialists .....:RpS_thumbup:
so rough you could hang your jacket on it......

.asifs got nomidos number.:RpS_thumbup:

Ive done a few of these and the best way is to do a small test panel and let them decide. Best of luck bud!

Get the sponge on it:RpS_thumbup:........no..erm ...I don't ,,,,mean , using the sponge means yer rough... I mean er .....the desired effect may be achieved...:RpS_unsure:

Yeah ive done it, flatten off and sponge after its picked up, i might try the speedskim next time and leave it.

one of the builders i worked for has a load of 300 year old stables which we turn into flats and shops , so to keep the effect of old style i mixed bonding and scrimcoat togeather put in some pva , plasterer it on the boards has rough as $%£& ,( not my normal standard I must had) let it nearly off , then brush it over with a mix of pva and water , came out great and ended up doing a few of his new places the same !

There's a pub up the road from me that's like it. Years back me old man skimmed all the ceilings when it was renovated.

The landlord at the time dabbed and bonded over all the walls his self to save money.
