the knowledge is more important then the card. what will he know after 12 weeks ? i bet he could not tell you difference between his cock and his thumb!

How stupid is your apprentice Ffs ? If he was able to read he could contact these guys and be a spread 3 yrs earlier . In the words of Captain Mainwairing, " don't tell him Pike"

I'd like to do the 'How to clean out buckets properly' NVQ. Judging by the length of the recent thread on the subject, I imagine it must be quite an intense course. I completed an Open University unit in Calculus (MS268) in 1999, so I think I am suitably qualified to undertake the Bucket course. If I complete the NVQ, would it be possible to have a terracotta CSCS card, as I'm not a fan of blue?
I await your early reply.

You cantget a blue card in 12 weeks for any apprenticeship not through Geason or any other training provider.

We can in 12 weeks deliver an NVQ to a competent worker, that being been in the job 3 years or more.

To be fair i dont think the idea is that you train someone from scratch in 12 weeks, they are talking about the assessment of an experienced worker over a twelve week period.

i served my time 100% on the job then got assessed after to get my NVQ, mainly so i could get the correct CSCS card. At the end of the day you can do a three year college course you'll still know sod all until you get on site and learn in the real world. I know that these NVQ assessors who come out to site don't require much but neither do they in a college classroom. its all the same just another way of achieving the same end.

Finally someone with the most sensible answer.

We only assess on site to ewi guys that have been doing the job for over 3 years and are competent. Even i know it takes more than 12 weeks to learn any job.

Thanks for your reply hopefully follow followers will now understand the process

Its a level 6 or 7 card for management. The only funding for that and level 7 is via a 24+ advanced learning loan, you only pay the loan back at 9% starting april 2016 if you earn more that £21000.

If you dont earn more then you dont pay it back. No credit checks are done so its kinda like the loans we got an uni..

Trust me some of the ppl with gold cards dont know their cock from their thumb ... Ive met a few haha
