Better add fibres to the mix as well. About another £8 m3. Ring a concrete firm ask for drive mix per m3. Think you should have aspirin on ready for the blood pressure.

I was told it would be £160 a square meter for concrete... (which seems a lot)

I may just go and get some quotes and be done with it :D

If you did fancy doing it yourself I like the looks of blue engineering bricks around the edge and forming bays to concrete, this method also makes your pours more manageable

I know shocking. Thought mixer bloke was having me over, so I rang around and he was the cheapest. About same price. Wouldn't have thought mix was that different from foundation mix to warrant double the price. I know sulphate attacks ground concrete more and needs different additives and mix ratio to strengthen but £160.

Mate was bemoaning how much he'd spent on drink in the ten years between 18 and 28.
'wouldnt mind half of that back, ' he said.

I asked what he'd do with the cash.

'id do it again for half as long,' he said.

I'd do it all again and spend twice as much !!

Yeah I've had some great times with some great people in the boozer.

Still a big part of my life... go in every Friday and Saturday and Sunday afternoon... Only have a couple but if I did not do it I would be stuck in my office all week and speak to nkbody
