Bioethanol Fireplace Question

Hi all,

I have recently bought a bioethanol fireplace with metal casing (see pictures). This fireplace has been put in the with HardieBacker cement board which can withstand heat up to 100c, which is sufficient.

I want to add a really high end finish around the fireplace so using a company that will apply microcement to the wall. They we also do a sub base.

Before they can start the work they have asked for the area to be skimmed and feathered. Does the skim have to be heat resistant? If yes, does anybody have any recommendations?

Many thanks in advance for any support given.

Kam

@KamJ May I apologise for what you have received in responses so far but it is a Friday night!
I don’t think much heat will come from your burner so normal skim will possibly be ok
You should ask a wood burner installer - a hetas registered one

Thank you for your reply and no problem about the comments.

The heat output is: 6,2 - 15 kW / 21297 - 51113 BTU.

I will take your advice and give a wood burner installer a call.
