We very recently finished building a private club under a client's house. He had a party there last night. The sound system and the lights are fantastic.
You can not hear a thing from outside. Not even if you stick your ear up against the fresh air vents going in or out of the building.

The first video is from when we were still building and gives you more of an idea of what it looks like. The second video is the party.

This is the space under the pool terrace and house that we converted into a private club. The blocks had been left from when the house was originally built.

We had to put in more concrete foundations and then build a room within this space while leaving a 600mm void all the way around the outside of the room for access to drainage and cables that were already in. We then built a building inside of that from timber that was not allowed to touch any blockwork so as not to let any sound transfer to the blockwork. The sole plate of this was mounted on special thick rubber acoustic tape to stop sound going into the foundations.

The the timber for the walls was infilled with acoustic rockwool. The suspended timber floor joists were infilled with rockwool and then had 20mm marine ply, 15mm acoustic plasterboard another layer of 20mm ply and a special thick acoustic matting in between each of these layers. This later had a wood look vinyl floor.
The walls had 20mm marine ply and two layers of the 15mm ply and layers of acoustic matting. The walls were later covered in carpet which is great for good quality sound.
The ceiling was timber joists and layers the same as the walls.
The doors are special soundproof doors and there is a kind of sound lock room to get out of the club. You have to pass through this room that only allows one door to be open at a time. It will not let you open the other door to get out until the door you used to get in is shut. This stops sound escaping when people are going in and out.
The sound and lighting equipment came from a company in England that specialise in that kind of thing. The bar, dj booth and furniture came from a company in England that mostly work on exhibitions. The two companies sent 2 guys down each to assemble it all. All great lads that were a pleasure to work with.
A lady was flown in from Barcelona to set up the lighting program.
There was no expense spared on this job.

The people at the party were the nicest people you could meet. Most of them knew each other from back in England and all were friends of the client. A few live down here but most had flown down from England for the party. No sleazy characters at all. The women left handbags all around the place safe in the knowledge that nothing would be taken.
People kept coming up to me all night to congratulate me on a job well done. The architect was already out of his brains when we go there. He loved it and is now trying to persuade one of his multi millionaire friends that has an old house down here to let us onto his property to sort out the monumental fucks up the Spanish builders done on it a few years ago. Maybe we can build another club too?

Why was this moved to the plastering forum? We didn't do any plastering on this. It wasn't even properly taped and jointed because the walls had to have carpet glued to them.

Any doves?
suppose its all nose candy with that sort of dosh,
plenty of riding too i bet!
Why not if that's your thing , be more interesting than the refurb im doing this week i suppose
There was definitely a fair bit of charlie about but the night seemed to be mostly powered by ecstasy.
I got offered a few things for free but I haven't taken anything for about 18 years and I'm not about to start taking anything again so I turned it all down.

ha ha , fair play.
nice work mate if you can get it , beats the usual auld shite we get lumbered with over here
