Staying in a hotel last couple days, whoever done the skimming was no Plasterer lol pics of the en-suite ceiling, can confirm the room ceiling isn't much better. Don't know if photos do it justice, but joint scrim showing badly, scores pulling out from angles. Just bad lol

Jesus I'd rather stay at home or do another job. I'd rather stack shelves in Aldi than graft my ass off on a daily basis on £1.25 just to try and make a wage while putting up with all the bullshit site politics that go with site work

Same here pal, the way the big firms justify it is by saying there's loads to go at, yeh there's loads to go at but I still wouldn't graft for £1.25m2

I did't even mean it, but it caught my eye. And then the rest of it caught my eye.definitely some poor workmanship. And then I couldn't believe how someone got away with that, must have been paid button's as the man says.

Spot on.

The good old days of site work has long gone, know so many people now who'll refuse to work on any large house building sites, you see all the youngsters now itching to get on site and you think Christ you're nuts.

I do this everywhere I go. TBH, it annoys me that I do it, especially with stone because there's some horrendous work here in the west of Ireland. To be honest, I know I'm not an expert in all that I do, but I do my best and always leave with happy clients, others just do give a flying fcuk.

I remember in the midst of the recessions n, the clerks of works on lot of jobs here were tight as f**k, want the job done for f**k all, but wanted it left perfect. Something has to give in them sort of situations. Work can't be left to a high standard when money is so bad have to throw stupid settings on. Just doesn't work.

I think that's when plastering started to not be seen as a trade in that time

I can believe that. Better to keep afloat than go under.
