Hi All,

Recently been tearing down a ceiling in a renovation and came across this piece of material which I’m unsure if it may be asbestos? Looks like plaster mixed in with some sort of bridging agent. Any ideas?

Thank you

How old is your property? You can get it tested so you know for sure.

Glassfibre strands reinforcement mixed into plaster/render. Seek & Take advice, wear a mask, use a vacuum. The problem is that tiny bits break off as dust and are as dangerous as asbestos.
( Info comes from one of my housemate buddies years ago, a chemist, responsible for doing the lab tests to determine asbestos and other hazardous fibres for an asbestos removal firm.).

Just take it down

If you're still alive in 6 weeks, you got away with it.

I’m really worried now. What should I do. So many things I haven’t done in life. Thanks ‘doctor moron’
I’m afraid he’s correct. When you die of asbestosis, the inside of your lungs turn to beads and your airways block up. Hence “Bead Dead” I know this because I am a doctor moron.
