Now i have artexed the ceiling i am left with a strong smell.
I have been in touch with artex who have said i need to paint it with undercoat or alkaline resistant primer.
Which is the best way to go as it is a large ceiling.

I had this email the other day was it off you Dodgevan?

Hope to can put my mind at rest.
I skimmed over an artex stippled ceiling
with artex textured for a smooth finish.
The problem i have is the smell, i have let it dry for 6weeks while i was away now i have painted it with 2 coats of watered down emulsion now 2 coats of dulux trade and i still have the smell.
I got in touch with artex who said the smell will go,how long do i have to wait?
Is this normal?
Regards
Richard

Yes it was you :RpS_biggrin:

Looking for advise.
I have replastered a ceiling using artex textured when i finished the job it looks good apart from the smell.
I have been on holiday for 6 weeks expecting the smell to have gone.
When returned home i opened the bedroom door the smell knocked me sideways.
Question how can i get rid of the smell ?

So you reskimmed the stippled ceiling with artex textured finish
Why didnt you use plaster? Are you a diyer?

The smell will go eventually.

If not you could try febreeze :RpS_thumbup:
