I've been told by the supplier that you can thistle bond it or unisons it
Do u know if it's true.
I did contact magply but haven't heard back

i would guess that magply will want you to use their primer. they or anyone else will not guarantee someone else product.

hello all
Anyone skimmed on magply board
If so what's it like?

Magply Board does not like PVA and specifically do not use Feb Blue Grit which is also PVA based.
Magply is a high suction background and care needs to be taken when skimming for a successful outcome.
Magply Super Penetration Primer should be roller applied in front of the Plasterer so it kills the suction
and bonds the skim coat to the board, skim whilst primer is wet. You can also use Silic8 Vapour Open Primer MPL2 which has a grit finish and should have a lime- based plaster finish applied to it to give a vapour open wall which is often desirable in older and listed buildings.
If in doubt contact www,magply.co.uk for instructions.
