Right folks, here's one for all you aspiring architects.

There's a house built really close to the sea (timber frame) and in the last eight years since built the lower room closest to sea has flooded 3 times, someone fcuked the levels up, never seen job but know where it is, apart from raising house which isnae possible do any of you have any suggestions, at highest flood it has came up over floor by 100mm.

Architects had an idea of akropropping ceiling up, cutting out timber frame at bottom and replacing with a few courses of engineering brick and new dpm and raising concrete floor up 150mm, then building a flood defence wall around property.

Right, away to work now and when i get home i hope to see a few solutions from clever plasterers...

surely akroing the ceiling up would make it quite drafty :RpS_confused:
The akros are just to support the upstairs while timber studs are cut out then the brick is built underneath and new studs correct length fitted once brickwork has cured..Well, i think that was their plan..
