got my first mono job to do in a couple of weeks. its for a mate. priced a few before but never got them. but at last i have 1. its only 12m2 tho, lol, so its a nice starter. its in white. iv given an estimate and hes said yep, its fine, ill pay whatever it costs, which is handy also ;)

just want to no which gear is best and most cost effective to use? also, where do i get a scraping tool from, les i assume?? on something this size, do i need an i section? or can i use something else? is there anywhere that would supply me with the 12ish bags that i need? any other advise would be handy, but i no its been said a few times before on here

oh yeah, also i gotta knock off the old stuff, which is something i never get involved in normally coz its a chore. but coz its a m8 i said i would. whats best to scratch with? rendaid?

cheers

Minsters do k rend e grade , that goes nice through the ritmo, you can use your ordinary straight edge to shave the render flat when it's firm, thumb dont mark it but thumb nail does, at the end of the day they are all very much the same and yes uncle Les or refina do the scraping pads, it's easy.Rendaid is real sticky stuff use hp12 minsters again.

you wanna scrub your scratch pad down on a paving slab or something before you use it just to blunt it a bit, if you use a new pad there too sharp and leave lines and scratches in the render

i saw some mono on saturday and it had lines all over in in a curved motion. is that what caused it monkey? it was obviously from the scratchpad but i didnt know why.

nick i've got a new phone number it's ..07778938775654654634734677238289821998747656547383829828765465765758748487576576854895, dont bother ringing the old number as it's been cut off

If you do it regularly Nick, use an I section first to do almost all the wall, then do your detail with an 11" spat, then a scratch all over with a med/sharp scratch pad, then lastly a fine tune scratch more like a smoothing action in big vertical circles with a blunt scratcher. This is the crucial one as it closes and refines the open texture and just makes your work better than if you hadn't. Brush down with soft large broom head from top to bottom job done
