**Step 1:**As we know, a whole of something is equal to 100%. In this case, we want to find what 1% of 815 is. We know that 100% of 815 is, well, just 815.**Step 2:**If 100% of 815 is 815, then we can get 1% of 815 by dividing it by 100. Let's do 815 / 100. This is equal to 8.15. Now we know that 1% is 8.15.**Step 3:**Now that we know what 1% of 815 is, we just need to multiply it by 1 to get our solution! 8.15 times 1 = 8.15. That's all there is to it!
