Hi
I am new to plastering and i have skimmed a wall in my house, which i am quite pleased with, as it is nice and smooth. My only issue is, it is wavey, nice smooth waves, but waves never the less. Could you please advise the best way to stop these waves, as i am going to do another wall very shortly.

I pressume my thicknesses must be varying across the wall?

Any constructed advice would be very welcome.

Many Thanks.

Try & adjust the angle of your trowel as your spreading the plaster so it lays on the same thickness all over.
The less plaster on your trowel the flatter to the wall it needs to be.

the trowel needs to roll in your hand as you spread. Which is what nisus has just said.
and your need constant even pressure - which will only come with time and s**t loadsa practice.

a tip i picked up of here my self and i bin doin it 8 years now. give your frst coat of skim a quick flaten just to take the lines out and any major bumps then put on or lay in coat. also a cross trowel after your wet trowel. gud luck
