would it be waterproofer or feb in the mix that would give better adhesion laying on over a scratch coat that has waterproofer in it because it is low suction, I am doing some band work 18mm thick I am mixing 4-1-1/2 sand, cement, lime,just need it to adhere without blowing

18mm thick in one go-ish? You will need some grab on your scratch and you will not get it on a waterproof background.

Where the band is going then leave out the waterproofer if you can? Scratch well as there is a lot of weight there to hold.

Other way for me.waterproof in top coat.that way it will pull into scratch.feb is dog **** in top

You could modify your render mix for the band with sbr this will aid adhesion, reduce the amount of water required for the mix, creating a stronger faster curing mix , will also reduce the risk off cracking and slumping

i wouldnt be useing waterproofer in the scratch coat this time of year.

never use it scratch in the winter me, the top dont go fast enough, be dark before its ready for floating.
