RS,
that looks real good.
I've never had a go to be honest, as my work is pretty mundane stuff, usually the common plasters, renders, dry wall, S&L etc.
I am now wondering which wall to have a go on here.
I love all these exotic plasters this forum is throwing up.

Rock on !

Any decent plasterer, can pick this style of plastering up. done properly really looks great. Ive been doing polished plasters for a few years now.

looks nice mate , have you ever tried oikes italian plaster avaialable from bluebell paints.i do venetian plaster myself from time to time has anyone done the coccio antico or the travetino romano which give a stone like finish ,well travatino like funny enough.

nice job, dont know why i smiled when u said should be able to see the bed here? People should post more pics even if there **** or not so we can all learn from them ect...

never done any polished plasters before is there much involved? do you think i could just pick it up after finding out the method with having trowel experience? how much are the mats any different tools needed?

cheers ben

Alot of peoples opinions vary but i dont think its dear for the sort of unique finish u get at the end. Being a plasterer makes it alot easiar but to do it right takes alot of experiance.

Nice work m8 ! i like the reddish one best , how do you get the green window on your you tube film with you details in it to come -up on the film please ??

Was thinking of doing our bathroom, what so of coverage do you get for a 25kg tub?

Depends what your using. If its carrara you will get around 12-15 metres in 3 coats and if its classic you can double that. You do need special tools for venetian plastering. First and foremost they must be stainless steel so as not to contaminate to plaster. The trowels have generally got rounded edges to avoid gouging because its not so easy as normal plastering to go over accidental damage.

what kind of people want this kind of work doing? if i wanted a 4m by 4m wall doing how much would it cost?? mats and labour, im only after a average

It depends a fair bit on colour required and also depends a lot on the finish too. Most of the finishes require approximately 6 visits due to drying time. Its hard to put a price on here to be honest as everyone charges differently.

for starting out generally a small mirrored trowel and spatula is all you need. After a bit a second trowel is favourable. then you have your best trowel (rafaello) which is perfect condition for stuccos and perfect smooth stuff and your less than perfect trowel (travertino) for more courser materials such as travertino romanos and ottochentos etc. This trowel will end up razor sharp. Spatula for getting gear out of the tub. There are a plethora of tools available to do different things but your two mirrored trowels are the most important
