is there a board out there that gives the same u-value as 90mm eps?
I'm sure I read somewhere there is a 50mm phenolic board thats gives you the same as the 90

Cheers

Used to be 50mm phenolic until about 2011 ish then it jumped to 60mm to give slightly better u values. I think the regs changed from .35 to .32 some time.

Phenolic is the way to go if u want the same value but less thickness.

On the warranty side phenolic isn't a stable board it can deform after production and it can also breakdown and lose a tiny bit of value. A handful of manufacturers won't touch it after some bad experiences bit most can supply and will if eps can't be used

phenolic at 70mm gives a u value of the same as 90mm eps if not a tad better, building regs are 0.30

They will prob squeeze the regs for new build again in the future before we know it passivehaus will be the standard

Get your suppliers backing for warranty. I won't touch it if I can.

Those near me that I have seen done with phenolic look like igloos in the sun.
