Hi everyone, new to the forum so hello.

I've just finished doing up my own two bedroomed mid terrace house. I now want to use the weber one coat render to cover the yard walls. I've just finished taking the old paint and render of the bricks. If I put 2 to 3 mm of rend aid onto the bricks and stipple it, could I then use 10mm beads instead of 15 mm beads ?
Are the 10 mm beads a no no?
If so why do they make them?

thanks CJ

welcome Audi,

I use 15mm drip beads and stop beads to ensure 15mm minimum depth. But on re-furbishment jobs I use 10mm angle beads on rend-aid because the brickwork is usually out.

so outer perimeter 15mm beads, rend-aid then 10mm beads.

But you could always put 5mm rend-aid on then 10mm beads but you might see the 5mm gap on the perimeter beads which will look naff.

Thanks Rigsby.

Well explained. No outer stop beads so might be ok?
Would I still be able to get the reinforcement mesh in between the 10 mm ?
