Dont wanna put the frightners in you mate but be care full with artex some pre 80's stuff may contain asbestos! Dont bother scraping that back just give a coat ofbonding and skim or a lill bonding in your first coat of finish then apply 2nd coat of just skim if its after 80's you got the added...

How much to test for asbestos

Sometimezs the artex cums through not matter what you do you can apply the first coat a bit thicker with a few hanfulls of bonding its the way forward. I dont bother scraping the major stipples any morecos I heard artex before the eighties may have asbestos in it!

Seriously for 2 quids a mtr can only be one coat to make it pay???:)

Any one ever read the back off hardwall? DO NOT APPLY TO AREAS TREATED WITH P.V.A. Wen you skim it 1st and 2nd coat straight away then a wet flatten straight away gets it under control then put another wall on same system then back to first wall kapesh.

Yer find that artex even thin artex the finish never comes out as nice and ceilings are always bumpy and unlevel that have been artexed.

Had artex ceiling and walls with tile adesive on was to thick just for skim but no time to bond out and wait so mixed a couple of handfulls of bonding in the tub of finish applied first coat flattend had a cuppa and fag then applied second coat of just skim it came out lovely anyone else do this...

Hello mate yer if you tape wall and celing youll need to cutoff the scrim on the ceiling after but if you put the tape flat on the wall and butt it up to the ceiling so it touches jobs doe put the kettle on.
