one coat is good if your on shitty price per metre, but is hard to get a perfect finish on it, as said, when painted it will look just as good. always best to do 2 aplications though as 90% of the time it has a better end finish. refina spatulas are great for one coating, will be buying one...

other option is stay in the chef business and do a course part time, its not ideal but it will give him the knowlage to be ready to get hands on experiance. could also do some small odd jobs, patching and improving etc to earn a bit extra. im a level 3 student and its pretty hard to find...

core it out with bonding/plasterboard 1st using a muffle then go over it with casting/lime putty etc to finish it. needs keying before casting over it as said though, running it on a bench would be easier. wheres the job? if near luton ill happily make you some moulds at my college
