How long can your base coat(Structolite)sit before top coat is applied?

So it seems knowbody knows for sure, but three days is a fair assumption. Does anyone have any insight into what happens to the base coat over time that makes it less able to adhere to the top coat? Are there any qualities in the base coat that can be observed that might indicate it has sat for...

How long can your base coat(Structolite)sit before top coat is applied?

If there’s a situation where you are unable to apply the top coat same day as base coat, how long can the base sit with out a topcoat before I presume a bonding agent would be necessary? Could you wait a few days, a week? What’s the rule here? I’m specifically asking about a Structolite base but...

Quikrete bonding agent vs plaster weld on wood lathe

I understand “quikrete bonding agent” can be used on wood lath before plastering instead of “plaster weld.” Does anyone have experience using both? How do they compare?

Repairing wood lath before replastering wall. Room had termite damage and some of lath is damaged. I can fix some of the lath but other more severe areas seem to require metal lath replacement. My question regards the proper installation of the metal lathe in this situation. Can I staple the...

    Replace old plaster or not

Redoing the walls in a room with plaster. House is nearly 100 years old, original(I assume) plaster(on lathe) is mostly intact. Would you recommend leaving plaster and repairing where needed or should I just replace the old plaster with new plaster? Will the new plaster keep the old plaster intact?

Archway prepped for plaster, but I didn’t use corner bead.

So your saying I should put a bead, or run the risk of having my corner fall off. But I’d like to understand why not including a bead would cause that?

Archway prepped for plaster, but I didn’t use corner bead.

What would be the consequence of not using a bead? I already have a clean corner and I’m gonna put up a two coat plaster system.

Archway prepped for plaster, but I didn’t use corner bead.

New to plastering, I’m finished prepping an arch way for the plaster coats, but I’m realizing I may have messed up not using a corner bead, I got the corners looking nice and strait using joint compound and sanding. Aesthetically it looks good but I’m worried structurally I might have a problem...
