You can't stick it with plasterboard adhesive as it won't stick. You could level it with dab then screw through each dab with screw and washer but that's alot of time and effort to save a small amount of money. The customers paying so what does it matter
Its very quick for a full house and not labour intensive. Couple of days to prep it all tape up windows, tape and bead, then a few days to spray it all.
It'll never catch on though, expensive machine, and only good for empty houses
We said self employed not a company owner. Self employed overheads are virtually nothing.
Van and van insurance just the same as anyone needing a car and car insurance to get to work. Public liability 100 a year and maybe 100 pounds of tools a year on average. What other overheads are there for...
Nursery fees being a business overhead is abit of a push. Spudknit is right overheads for self employed is not much different from anyone else other than 100 public liability what's different?
Has anyone not had a product fail though. I've had a fail with green Grit to but also had fails with Pva. Every product is always going to go wrong now and then
Your cleaner charges you £17 but they don't earn £17 an hour a self employed plasterer has very little overheads earning 1k a week he'll be around for a while yet
To board and skim that is a days work for a plasterer. You're probably going to pay almost the same labour to get it plastered as you would to get them to board and plaster it
Who'd be a plasterer hey. All that mostly good work and beads being a couple of mm out of line and the customers thinking about not paying.
Having said that it is infuriating to look at and I don't know why they've done that with stop beads
I won't lie I don't know what they do.
I bought a load of your scrim a while back though and not getting on with it it's really plasticy and if it's not in a dead straight line it won't go flat and shows even after 2 coats. Just a heads up
Hi, I don't think the average tradesman is on 300 a day some are but plenty on 200
15k would be a couple of guys for over a month they'd need very long lunch breaks to drag that out
Noone on a plastering site has ever heard of skim falling off moisture board & they never will. Almost 100% of plastering isn't done to spec including all of yours. BG say you should use bondit don't they?
I take it from that, that I'm the c**t?
Very aggressive over abit of skim. Multi adheres fine to moisture board. Noone on here will have had or will ever have a fail on moisture board skimming straight onto it, can guarantee it.
Someone having 2 jabs and still getting covid isnt unusual. Ive had 2 doses and still got covid, as did mother in law, father in law, and several friends. All still here and well thankfully
Just wondered which ingredient was posion?
A lot of people have had it I don't know anyone who's had more than a sore arm or slight flu like symptoms for a day
There's no such thing as one coat. They'll fill the joints then go back around. They'll make decent money but it'll never be on par with a decent plasterer 2 coating how the job should be done
Depends on the job. Reviews and recommendations are good for basic skimming, but if its a more specialised job such as damp or lime, looking into previous work, pictures, asking the relevant questions when they quote is important
