    Make that 99.99per cent hack it off, it looks crap, do a nice k rend off white render, or a cheaper way, 6.1.1 plastering sand, cement, hydrated lime,sponge finish ,then either paint or leave as it is.

    I would pva it, use Carlite Bonding to float it, then skim with multifinish, provided the existing render is sound.

    I would not use waterproofer on wall, it slows down the setting time forever and a day, dump it, plastering sand, cement, hydrated lime, 6.1.1.

    In the old days b4 self adhesive scrim, spreads would put a bed of finish on the joints and stick bandage scrim onto the joints, perhaps the silly p##ck is still doing that method.

    Looks like one coat skimming, not a good idea, Should be 2 coats. PVA it and reskim, scratch it on, lay it down, flatten it, trowel it up,go to the wall 5 times, simple.

    Plasterboard, and skim, forget about limelight ,its Crap, working above your head you will be covered in it, it has no substance to it, use quick setting bonding if you decide not to use plasterboard.

    First battens to OSB, 16" centres, secondly building paper ,staple to battens, thirdly fix expanding metal lath to battens, 2 coat render to finish.leave first coat render overnight to ensure good fix to EML.

    Strange, i think it may be the handle, as if i go back on the handle as far as possible when trowelling up it seems to help,with regards to the cork handle, i only drink White ace, plastic bottle, plastic handle,so that wont help, thanks anyway.
