What sort of quantities you guys knocking up. With BG I'd do a 3 bags mix and timings would be just right. Knock up even 2 bags of Knauf and I'm gonna struggle to use it all.

Thought You might like to see this vaulted ceiling I did a few years ago. There was a lot of head scratching first day on site- but turned out a nice job. The Very fussy client was delighted.

No Problems with using them at all. they are easier to work with and stronger. Be aware though that you can't dot and dab with vapour (foilback) boards. they are for screwfixing only.

The concrete is almost a polished type finish, so I can see why they'd assume it won't stick, there is no real key on it. I will try it on bare concrete when I can but they are on your back constantly and don't seem to care that it's failing- 'it's your problem mate, it's what the spec says'...

I've had loads of dot and dab fall off the walls (smooth cast concrete building)after splashing plas-prime on it. it doesn't seem to matter how long it's left to dry. some areas take and others don't. I'm still experimenting as to why !! I don't trust it anywhere really but keeping getting told...

Not sure on price per metre but Minsters offer BG and Speedline products. Speedline is quite a bit cheaper and as far as i can tell-exactly the same. you can buy in small amounts i.e. 1 of this 2 of that. Only a guess but most components are about £1.10 -1.30 per linear metre top end.

a decent transformer would be £50+ so there's that to consider in your budget. As with all tools in all trades, you mostly get what you pay for. Buy cheap- don't expect it to last so long. spend a bit more and it'll serve you well.

Does your current mixer run off a yellow lead(110v) legal requirement for sitework, or just plug straight to the mains(230v)domestic use.
