Just skimmed some p/ b's after d and d, the skimming is drying slow, suspect its because its a cold damp empty house, my question is why do the skim beads look like they are rusting? Its only been a week since skimming.

as a 53 year old spread looked at speedskim thought I would buy a 1200 and give it a go, it saves a lot of time flattening and is easy to use, even on ceilings with the right attachment on a painters roller pole, piece of p... flatten off as soon as you lay both coats, theres a vid on youtube...
bloody hell i know im new to this site and im an old fart but, when did spreads start using sponges on any skimming apart from leaving a pattern, whats wrong with just flattening with steel trowel or are we different in the north west of england?
you also consider brick slips ie; a thinner brick face approx 35mm stuck on with tile adhesive and pointed ,thats whats on mine its not cracked with my log burner, been on 2 years, look for brick slips on internet
