a mate of mine put red food colour in the pva skimmed the room out looked great until the painter started putting white paint on everything the colour kept bleeding through the paint lets just say he wasnt best pleased !
the only reason im asking is a freak accident with the back door of a transit! i usually use a 14" mt but thought id have a change so i ordered a kraft 14" to check it out its only £20 so if its junk its another scrapper in the box!
locally i usually pay around £1 a bead so maybe im being tucked up too? on the re skims he just looked as if he was knocking it on not trying to straighten/plumb anything? i may be wrong but i was shown to at least straighten them out?
im not a fan of the handle on the ragni one but thats probably just bein used to my trowel so ill probably be on here slagging the kraft one off when it comes!
think i will mate was gonna buy 2 new trowels so if anything happens i still got a tidy one to go back to....think ill just order one and see how it is cos you know how it is sometimes they just dont feel right. they half the price of mt trowels to so fingers crossed!
after just wrecking my trowel and the spare aint all that good to be honest gotta invest in some new kit....any of you use kraft trowels if so are they any good? just fancy a change to be honest. thanks
should have been more specific the wet rooms a food prep area with a tiled floor told him to do it properly some floor tiles would need to come to seal from floor to wall and he didn't want to do it....some ones already messed it up once before!
thanks for the advice lads. i told the guy it wont do and your always gonna have water penetration through it but he's a starving t"@t so i decided to give it a miss as im sure he be happy to tell anyone who'd listen how it went wrong but not that he didnt want to pay to have it done right!
got a job on to waterproof a stud wall between a wet room and wc was thinking cut dpc into floor then cement board up to tile level dpc up under cement board then pb up to ceiling and skim........tiles going up bout 1200 so cement board should do...............any sugestions?
fair play he tried to tell me theres nothing wrong with it. when i asked the customer later on once id got the job did he prep any of the walls the response....."yeah he used pva and water and put it on with a spnonge????" anyone else willing to dip theyre hands in that shite?
i had a similar situation but the customer never told me the other guy was gonna turn up 10 minutes after i got there....just in time to hear me say "its all gotta come off and be re done" talk about awkward!
to be fair im a jack and they played well against a £300m team i dont think martinez will fancy coming down here next week. come on the jacks:RpS_lol:
