    Best backing coat to use?

Hi I've got a whole house to price up re plaster. The external walls are double skin(9 inch) but no cavity. Am I right in thinking using gypsum backing coats wouldn't be the right stuff to use for chasers and bringing skirting lower ??? As could cause damp problems. Or would it be ok as its not...

    Pussy sets....

I do 2-3 bags a set if I'm site bashing any thing less then that I wouldn't even make a **** day rate! If I do my own work be lucky if I do this all day and for double money of what I'd get on site!

I know a gang of 2 skimmers and a labourer who do a house a day!!!! They do more then 100m2 a day each!! They think they are the best on the firm!! I'm like good luck with that lads as I can't wait to see how you do in another 5 years!!!! The firms love m2 bashers! This is why I hate site work...

In a bit of a bad situation !

I'm helping another plasterer I used to work for out on a massive job he has. I told him I'm really busy myself but I could help out about 4 days and the odd day to fit around my work. We both was happy with that and that we would agree a metre price and he makes a cut. Problem is he has done no...

    Speedskim blue blade

  22. G

    Brown plaster boards

    are they like these?
  27. G

    Brown plaster boards

I did skimmed out a loft a few months back. It's was boarded out with these brown boards they are like handy boards. I asked the same question before I skimmed it. Had no problem and suction was normal.
  28. G

    What's better?

What's better 2 massive hits or 3 smaller hits?
  29. G

    insulated plasterboard.

Yeah I did a job few weeks back with 70mm insulated plasterboard! Every board was bowed side to side so when I came to skim I had to level out the joins!! Fuckiing hate those boards! Next time I do a job with them I'm gonna charge a lot more.

    What to do

I have same problem as this at times. I've tried other spreads but never works out as they try nick my contacts! I've tried 6 trainees but all of them had no idea! I now just keep certain jobs priority ie jobs that are worth doing or a builder who would give on going work.
  31. G

    Another great day on site!

Apparently they have no plots ready! So tell me to patch a bay window then do sound coating but the fcuking house ain't even built! What a fcuk waste of time! What am I doing this shiiiit for!!! Site work is soooo shiiiit!
  32. G

Is £50 for whole room re-skim cheap?

The trades fuckked when you got customers only wanting to pay this kind of money! Happens all the time to me!
  33. G

    refina spatula v's speedskim

The speedskim st is good for flattening skim but the speedskim sf is rubbish at finishing as it leaves lines ! I've tried everyway with it but the refina is loads smoother and leaves no lines.
  34. G

    refina spatula v's speedskim

That's on skimming. The speedskims ok for floating.
  35. G

    refina spatula v's speedskim

Defo refina! I'm trying both now and the refina spat feels better, better built and doesn't drag.
  36. G

This trade going down the pan!!

I very rarely look at jobs now unless I'm sure I'll get it or if it's 2mins away from my house . I just stick with builders.
  37. G

    What mixer to get next?

Do I go with a budget mixer or go all out and get 1800 watt refina but £400 is it worth it?
  38. G

    Site work

That all sounds about right! I really can't keep doing this shiiiit it's enough to give me a nervous breakdown!
