This website can be quite personal at times.this to say it is a plasterers forum.i think that can be a good thing.what do other lads and lassies think.

In the day when do and dab first came out we used to get £20 to scratch coat partie walls on new builds.that was upstairs and downstairs.then dot and dab over them.simple,we used to dot and dab get some mortar off brickies and sprikel it on the floor .the foreskin (foreman) would come in look at...
Not something I would do.i would skim render if damp is cured,the method you mention the dots behind the boards will take a long long while to dry out.and can be a pain when decorating.these dots can shadow through the plasterboard .and seem always wet.with the waterproofed in the render...
I use a Darby for all o my floating work always have done.i think they are a great tool.i was brought up using one.dont think you can buy the really broad anymore.mine is still as straight as the day I bought it. 30years go.
Everyone has to make a living.but I am sick of clowns (sorry circus theme again) go and learn how to do the job,and learn on next to no money like I had to do.or learn on great money.But learn the basics before unleashing yourself on the paying public.no hard feelings and good luck.
Try to get them rates up north.good luck lads.but some spread do exaggerate there earnings.why l don’t know.how much I can put on in one hit.how much I can drink (I am guilty of that one) how much I can earn in a day or week.that is the plastering culture.why?
