Nah. I'm gonna be a regular here now. Made a lot of great friends. Might even start a discord server where I'll teach some of you to how to read and write to a semi-decent standard.
Exactly that. Wasn't expecting perfection at all. You saw how bad the walls were prior. A pro would've probably taken it all back to brick or used plasterboard. I just wanted to give it a go myself.
No point uploading them, as the silly trolls on here will say it's a bad job. I'm happy with the 2 walls I've done so far. Looks so much better. Glad I didn't waste money hiring a "professional".
It was papered over so the damp and shoddy wall was hidden until I stripped it all. Pretty sure the damp was caused by the overflow tank which has now been removed.
Too late. Already bonded.
But for real, no plasterer has ever obtained 10 houses solely from plastering. You're like Jay from The Inbetweener: To stupid to tell a sensible lie, so you just spout impossible, exaggerated nonsense.
Yes, you can ask, but I won't answer. All I can say is my profession requires more intellect than just slapping up plaster all day. Enjoy RSD and arthritis, buddy.
I did very well in school. And college. And university (twice), but I'm also not afraid to get my hands a bit dirty and try a bit of plastering because it looks easy as piss.
Also worth nothing that the tools I'm using are cheap and cheerful from Wickes or Homebase. None of this £50 on a Marshaltown/Nela shite. No snazzy flexi trowel. No cheating speedskim. Just me, my trowel and I.
"Gob on a stick", "boy with a man's head". Jeez. They're awful lmao.
If you bothered to read above you would know this is my first time plastering, a shoddy old kitchen no less, so I am not expecting perfection. I'll post pics when done.
Nope. Not a wind up. Came here for genuine advice only for the majority of you braindead halfwits to reply with insults. Like I said, plastering is well known for being the easiest trade so I'm giving it a go myself. It's an old house so whatever my results it'll be an improvement and I would've...
Nah lol first time. Just watched some yt vids (mainly plastering for beginners). Deffo harder than it looks, just not willing to pay hundreds for a pro
Sooo i pretty much just ignored all your advice and have decided to have at it myself. Knocked off what I could, have just bonded it and will start the skim tomorrow.
The reason I don't want to pay someone is because plasterers charge the earth. Obviously I couldn't fit a boiler or rewire a...
Hi everyone.
Just looking for some advice. I'm looking to do some DIY in my kitchen. It's an old 1920s house that I'm guessing has been patched up over the years. I've just taken off the wallpaper and it's a lot worse than I thought. Mould and cracking at various layers. I've attached pics
I...
