I always figure... If i can do it within my price, and I like the client then I'll do it..... If i dont really like the client, it'll be an additional charge whatever!!
I bought a plastic blade trowel oh I dunno... 5 years ago? Didn't find it much cop apart from on uneven surfaces that were going to remain uneven!
I might take a years break and piss off to tenerife.... But Got to work out finances.
All I know is I can't push it too much as both elbows are in...
Too many posts here to go through the whole lot, and I'm sure it's been answered already.... But.
He pva'd the first non porus ceiling... Had sliding plaster, so didn't bother adding any adhesive key to the other ceilings.
Plaster has delaminated ... No suprise There.
I will happily...
What do I hate about plastering?
Everyone tells you about a brilliant plaster they 'used to know'
'can you just'
The s**t left by other trades as mentioned many times before.
My chronic tennis elbow after only 10 years
Bringing that dusty s**t into my own house!
....What do I love...
Thanks for all the info and possible options on this fellas ... I do appreciate it. Its quite possible that I'm getting carried away and creating more work than necessary .... and judging by the advice opening a can of worms I might not be able to shut without a lot of expense.
Perhaps my...
Thanks.... Yeah I'm thinking I might just have a go at krend. What could possibly go wrong?!!
Hp12, mesh and top coat. I fancy trying it, so as per the first post... Any tips are more than welcome! It'll be about 3 weeks from now I recon, gotta get an I beam and devil float
Not heard of it Jim? I spend most of my time nobbing around inside with hardwall and multi.
What about this bauwer product from Alexander... Ill put my house up for his mega test, promotional thingamy bob
Travis have just sent me a 20% off voucher for online shopping, so that'll be great if I remember to buy the stuff they've decided I should get at a regular price..... And if I can be arsed to be there for 30 mins kicking my heels.
Xperia. ..... Tried uploading vía the mac too, still says files are too large for the server.
I've emailed it to Danny asking him to post the pic
Nah.... Im Going to have to go over the top of it....it'd be bloody hard to make it look worse and painting it just won't hide the multitude of patches, proud sections and cracks. So uf fiber bind and top coat? Got a small wall at the back of the house to practise on... Anyone fancy giving me...
Seriously... It looks like a bag of s**t.. It's been patched over badly in the past... Don't think any amount of paint will hide this s**t?! Or is there a f**k off thick paint on the market that'll do the job and look good for 6 months?!
Yeah probably ........ you know when you just want it all looking great ... I'm going to have to pull off beads and try to blend in which isn't going to work anyway ..... thats why I thought f**k it ...... time to krend it all ..... hmmmmmm ..... I need to sell this gaff so I can move on with...
It would be of great use if you don't mind finding out for me ... the idea of not rendering the whole house is getting more appealing - it won't look how I had planned to sell, but good enough is ok with me;)
Fascia, soffit and new roof already done ... these are some older pics ... not sure painting it black is the way to go though ?!!
Really appreciate the input though ...
Hmm ... its a tricky one ... there's areas I'd have to hack out and re-render if I went down the paint route, and quite a few cracks that'd need filling ... and then it'll always show. TBH Id rather not have to go to the ball ache of rendering or krending the whole thing ... just figured thats...
It does actually look pretty s**t when up close and the old beading is rusted .... I get going over paint is a little dangerous ... after all ... how much weight can paint take!?
Hi All ... I've gone through all the posts and not found what I'm looking for ... I'm also prepared for the 'don't do it if you don't know what you're doing' train of thought, which I get .... but here goes -
I want to get ready for sale and I need to re-render my 1850's house. its got...

He's got a good point .... I come on her looking for advice for the stuff I don't know and the stuff I do know - well generally someone else has answered it. This is one of the better places for advice with a really good humour running through it ... don't lose then humour!
