    Quality Persimmon homes

Ours was a Charles Church but simply a Persimmon under a different name. Rushed through for a 21st December completion date that we were forced to accept. Despite poor quality, solicitors states that a house is a house if it has doors, roof, windows etc. Regardless of any defects. Ours was...

    LED Coving

Has anyone experience of LED coving and the pros and cons of using as an uplighter or a downlighter. Guess I am always used to coving covering the join between ceiling and wall, perhaps hiding any issues with where they meet, so downright seems to offer something akin to what I am used to...

Anywhere else to try as no key on here? Fed up with my builder and other similar websites where your details are basically sold on to anyone.

Plasterboard Install, Taping and Jointing Required B77

Just been on checkatrade to find someone to do this. First reply back telling me full plaster will be better finish and cheaper than taping and jointing. If that is the case may as well go for soundbloc f board which was the other most dense board I was looking at.

Funny you should say that. Installer for new one does same but with Dekton which i had not heard of until now (from same company as silestone) or similar product from Grespania called Coverlam.

Room is also used for Home Cinema. Front set up is as below Old 42 inch Plasma is from 2008. Recently changed to a 50 inch LED as smaller bezel means similar dimensions. Cannot fit any bigger so chimneybreast made from promotec will need to be redone so I can change current speakers and...

Forgot to say I can order in the board from insulation express with free delivery. They seem to be cheapest place for board. Rockwool is either from them or from building materials who are slightly cheaper, especially for 100mm size.

Plasterboard Install, Taping and Jointing Required B77

Hi all, I have a lounge that is 3.6m wide and 4.6m long. Wanting to pull down the existing plasterboard, fit Rockwool RW3 between studs and joists and board with Siniat Megadeco board with taping and jointing. I believe this will require 24 boards in total. Ceiling will be housing 4 speakers...

Cheers Tony. Seems they are OOS on the fibafuse tape. and instead of something like USG Sheetrock Flexi Metal tape you would recommend something like the USG Beadex paper faced metal bead?

No Tony, Would you use fibafuse on internal corners and jointing of boards using Megadeco Board? Or any others like perfect finish? And was wondering what best on external corners these days....

    Plasterboarding for first time

Yes going 5.1.4 as room is only 3.6m wide and 4.6m long. Impact noise and movement from floorboards is apparent so hoping to cross brace joists, 100mm rockwool, acoustic plasterboard, hoodies over each speaker which are closed back but believe needed for some acoustic help and also fire rating...

    Plasterboarding for first time

I was hoping something like Megadeco would be an ideal item for a first time user as no need for plastering. I know this is a plastering forum but hoped drywalling is also a topic as not happy with some of the plastering our house came with, some only evident in fitting blinds later on where...

    Plasterboarding for first time

Thanks all. Speakers are all sealed backs. Rear wall at approx 70mm studs may be a fraction too slim with 1 layer of 15mm plasterboard for speaker depth of 99mm so may have to use 2 or something like reductoclip system similar to genieclip. Not sure which would offer the best benefit. Was...
