I’m going to be rendering a large garden wall this week. The beads have already been applied but they’re 10mm beads. Can you 2 coat render with 10mm beads? I was taught it should be a lot bigger.
Thank you! I’ve had a look at buying some beads, the ones at 20mm I suppose are best for putting straight into the wall, and the smaller ones at 10mm I assume are best to apply after the scratch coat has been applied? Would you say it matters either way though asking as the beed is there?

absorbtion rates and suction rates, are they important? Does a wall need a good suction rate to work on or not? And when it comes to preparing a background, how do you decide or know if it has a good key? Just the texture of the wall...
