I’ve been doing this for 25 years now and In the last 12 months I’ve heard of 2 suicides of spreads I worked with. Has anyone else experienced the same. I worked with a bloke and he used to say that the colour of skim makes you depressed.
Going to plaster a room for a friend tomorrow as they are trying to push the job on. Got there to find that there is 3 plasterers coming tomorrow and I’m in the most awkward shity room I’ve ever seen. Why did I do it to myself
Would any plasterers be interested in learning to airless spray plaster?
I’m thinking it might be more a thing for painters but would like to know what you think about it?
I think there is money to be made in it

I went to look at a thin coat job today and the customer had already started to put the insulation on the outside of the building.
This has split and moved in the weather. He wants to keep it on but I’m thinking it has to come off? Any thoughts?
I put a question on here back along about adjustable beads for doing curved walls. Got lots of spreads saying just free hand it. I’ve just done another one today using rails cut from timber. I take them out and infill as the gear goes off. I was wondering how other spreads would go about this curve
Anybody on here use these new dry lining tools? Columbia make some of them, they spread the gear over the joint’s evenly from a box on a pole section.
Chap who works with me is raving about them
This is a job down my road. No beads, No coppings total mess. This was a quick photo the rest looks worse. They probably got decent money for it too. Joke
Anyone came across a bead that can be fixed to blockwork and the depth adjusted?
Got some curved walls to do onto block work and I swear I read something on here about them.
Thanks
Anyone using damp plasterboard at the moment? On a wet site and the boards damp. Does anybody think mould might be a problem as the job progresses? Or am I worrying about nothing
Just bought the apprentice a new trowel but been in this situation before and just when you think you have a dedicated one they f**k off elsewhere.
Anyone do the same for there’s?
Has anyone came across this before?
Looks like there has been a leak in the ceiling and it’s gone between the boards. Defo been no leaks though.
It’s been sprayed with airless jub 3 coats, then sanded and sprayed with base coat paint. This only showed up really on the next spray paint coat...
Does anyone on here that’s using a airless plaster machine have problems with the gun going a little rusty?
we are putting it in a bucket of water each night to stop it blocking but it’s obviously going to rust.
an alternative would be much appreciated. Thanks
