Always have separate trowel for burnishing. As for products, yes it should be but it does depend on what you are using aswell.

Any tips on polished plaster would be a win!

Hi Tomahawk. Answer is quite simple as James mentioned. Clouding is created by going to thick on final coat.. Don't know what procedure you are using, can also be because the lime in the polished plaster that you are using is of not great quality aswell as not going tight enough on the final...

Just for the record so that you know Venetianzak just for the record, many years ago Armourcoat went to Coverit in order to close a deal with there materials, however, they took various samples from them and imitated their products later on. Their Key coat and Spatulata are key indicators, to...

Understand what you want to learn, why, where you go, plan etc and go for it.There's shed loads of finishes out there, but most importantly go and visit centres that offer training and then judge it yourself, Or go back in this forum of history as all questions are answered.

    Marmorino block work

Bang on Sparky. Longstroke- There's loads of finishes out there and they all have their proper names as stated previously. Sizes of grains are called microns and without getting to technical it's the size that creates texture. He's one for nice trivia question. What is Calcite finish, and also...

  21. C

    need to learn.

It's not about one finish in marble plastering. Lucidato is a Classico finish. You cannot do it in a day, you are setting yourself up for dissappointment.

    Laguzzo

Yep used sevral times, take it it's finish you are after.
  23. C

    lime putty

Without making it too complicated. Different size granules known as microns produce different textrues and it's the right consistent amount of quality grain that produces various finishes obviously with High Quality Lime.

    What a bad Applicator

I have just got back from pricing a job and reassuring the customer where a previous applicator has talked the talk but not walked the walked. a little advice please

Hi Pepper As Sparky says, also depends on whos products you are using. Certain products have too many binding agents which can cause serious breakdown problems. Which brand you using then i can help.

    tadelakt substrates

Further to my thread. Also includes Sky Blue, Cambridge Blue, Orange Chromate, and to be honest many other colours, list is to endless to mention. Also your venetian isn't exactly that either is it. Still good for Lime plastering though.
  33. C

    tadelakt substrates

I agree with venetianplasterer. Carrara in my opinion is far better. Also what product is yours then. I have used many forms of tadelakt over the years and I know your products very very well, but obviously you do. Just like your lime putty, great for lime plastering but not in venetian.

    Best wax to use

3 coat cera wax and 2 coat parrafin wax, that's the best system
  38. C

    Best wax to use

best to understand the wax before you use it. I have used this system for many years and is good stuff.
  39. C

    Best wax to use

burnishing wax does work. wouldn't apply parrafin wax by trowel. Burnshing wax lies between the cear platform and parafin comes up a touch. cear wax is both beez wax and liquid soap.
  40. C

    Best wax to use

try cera wax 3 coats, burnishing wax then paraffin
  41. C
