this year has been a nightmare with customers not being ready
walking in to bedrooms to skim them and all their stuffs still in their floors covered in clothes
turned up to do a bedroom ceiling last week customer had forgot i was coming and filled the room with new bathroom suit and kitchen...
having spent many years working on my own i decided to employ a labourer had him a few months with intention of teaching him to plaster
but now it feels like im having to work double hard t o cover his wages
althou it makes life abit easy sometimes i sometimes wonder if would be easier just...
got a bungalow to render has been render originally to floor covering dpc its all been hacked of so needs rendering again above and below dpc going to run a belldrip bead along the dpc line
wen rendering the underneath aint sure weather is going to bridge the dpc any way around it ?
how do you all work out your scaffold costs
iv got a regular company i use but without keep hassling them for prices for potential jobs
any one have a method
just been to look at job iv got to start in next few weeks and they have had flush fit down lighters fitted

work just keeps piling in
getting on average about 10 calls a week with people wanting work carried out
dont get me wrong cant complain that are busy but it dont half get stressful
had one call me asking to price up a ceiling for a lady who was aboard go there get told its just ceiling so price up for it don't look at the walls or any other areas
get given the ladys number to call with the price
ring her up give her the price
and this is putting right another...
i no its not really plastering related but
been asked to price for repointing gable end of a 2 storey house done a fair bit of re pointing over the years
buts its got an old bitumen style dpc which has seen better days
just the pointing above and below the dpc is shot to bits and needs...
what ratio do you use for the butter coat
i dunno wether its just the **** sand but can never seem to butter the mix up enough to hit a big section before throwing the stones
just seems to draw the life outta it and sometimes struggle to get stones to stick
p.s i hate pebble dash at the...
any where other than doing a course to find out about all k rend /weberpal applications

anyone else get massive condensation build up in back of their vans
got 07 plate transit all new ply ling and shelving and its all turning mouldy with there moisture from condensation
it has the spinny air vent on top
old transit never had this problem only diffrence was old van had no vent...
what floats do you as use for rubbing up s&c iv got a few of the polyurethane plastic floats from faithfull but find them horrible to use
can anyone reccomend any diffrent types to try

got a kitchen to re skim but the ceilings caked in greese above the cooker and in other places
was planing on just scraping as much off as possable n giving it a scrub with water n sugersoap
over boarding aint an option as coving is shallow and would loose the lip
any other ideas ???
just out of intrest do you guys have a 110v mixer with transfromer or use the standard 3 pin plug of 240 bin thinking bout getting new drill and dont ever do site work so no real need for me to use 110 but any resons why it better or no diffrence

just had a mate tell me he ad finished a barn conversion on a farm the customer was nice as pie all the way thru the job
the builder has gone to get his finally payment and the customer has give him a bill
for use of the bonfire lol so hes rufusing to payfull amount as he reckons hes saving...

tried everything i can think of dried the brushes right out before putting em in the van
the old escort never had the probley as much cause bulkhead was not to the roof so heater dried it out sorta but with the transit bulk head...
just wondering for last yr or so while plastering i used to get like a heavy feeling in arm and feel weak then after few months more its like gone on to me chest and wen move arms get like a stabbing pain under me collor bane area
