Hi mate we recently did a 200 year old Manor House in wales. System is awsome onto board but also really good for refurb work. We use alsecco fx which you can pritty much trowel to a finish like multi. Sanding takes about 10-15 mins a room tops between 2. We also use alsecco fleece which is...
Hi mate just seen this bin a while sins over bin on here we moved to airless plaster and it’s great was hard to get used to at the start and had a couple problems but now it’s bang on
right Iv been asked to price 3 large houses for a friend of mine for board and plaster. I will be honest with you I never price on m2 rates.
so my question is what is the average going m2 rate for boarding stud and dot and dab ?
we are general builders so we just normally price the job as a...
You use them often? I say not my cup of tea used one once but area was small so ended up loosing my rag with it so probably the wasn’t really a fair test
Anyone got a board lifter kicking about that they want rid of near the midlands Let me know. got a job coming up that’s abit of a bitch so could do with one not normally my cup of tea but think it might be handy.
To me looks like plaster is to close to the floor. You can buy damp proof kits off the net drill brick work and then inject. Then plaster back up and keep your fingers crossed
Totally agree but unfortunately it’s not the way the building trade works now. Everything is speed and that’s why we went airless my dad is 60 like I said I’m 26 it’s only the 2 of us. But we can knock out 2 good size houses a week with paint aswell with the airless system it just works so much...
Also my dad is 60 and he has just done a 4 bed onto board on his own in 6 days 2 coats sanded and white washed with ceilings being pained all with airless systems. Which I don’t think is bad going.
Really busy tbh mate put on 2 pallets today got another 3 going to another job Thursday. Finished a 600m2 off yesterday which was started last Wednesday.
also while doing this iv completely ripped out a house ready for rewire replumb and plaster and all new woodwork kitchen and bathroom.
I’m...
Well we have moved over to airless spraying we did it at the start of the year before everyone jumped on bandwagon. But obviously still do multi as sometimes not worth getting machine out.
Iv seen the nela ones are they any good ? They do a plastic one aswell but that seems like it’sgonna be to...
Anyone using corner trowels ? If so what you using I’m seeing more and more people using them. Never really been my thing as can never get on with them but they seem to be getting better quality etc now.
Don’t tell everybody about airless they all jumping on the bandwagon. I have had 3 companies call asking how to use machines how do we sand it what do we do all sorts of shite.
Has anyone on here ever has experience with Columbia tools ? I know they are mainly tape and joint tools but I’m looking into them for airless systems so any advice would be great
We charge around £15 a square. That’s materials and using level line in every corner and tape and joint so. I’d say if the tape and joint good and you didn’t want level line in corners I’m guessing it’s not beaded ?? You would be about £12-£12.50m2
Iv just priced a job the guy bin let down the boards are there I said I will board room and airless plaster £550. Said was to much some guy gonna do it for £150. I told him to crack on. No bullshit within a day he rang me the plasterer ran out of plaster halfway across the ceiling do you have...
I will be honest lads could give a toss what people are charging as long as you happy with what you earn put roof over your head and food on table. And if you lucky enough to put some in the bank then yeah you doing good and if you doing it to survive then that’s what you need to do.
you always...
I will keep you all posted . If you could send me private message as it’s easier to keep track of. Just put quantity and will get back to you as soon as I know anything and if it is a flop I will let you know so you not waiting around
I may be able to get my hands on some multi finish by end of next week. If any one interested message me. Don’t want to get peoples hopes up but hoping it comes of something.
Right iv been on hunt for some different airless plaster just to see what’s out and about I use bagar g or jub now and then. Can’t get on with knauf find it gritty and s**t to flat off
